Processions of these overladen trucks were seen as families picked up their homes and left the Canal Zone

Whilst hoards of others left by train - this was the scene at Ismailia railway station

All vehicles, including buses were stopped and a search carried out for concealed weapons

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oct 19th - Egyptians Guard Ismailia

Egyptian police are deployed in the main square in Ismailia as they share responibilty with the British for maintaing order in the city. Ismaiia, midway point in the critical Suez Canal area, was the scene if the first bloodshed Tuesday, following Egypt's order to the British to evacuate the canal region
